Sad.

Wow this mining disaster has really hit me hard, I feel sad as if I actually knew the men.  I think because I was glued to the TV over the last 5 days really hoping and waiting for some good news.  I really thought there was going to be a miracle.  It makes me appreciate my life and the people in it.  I feel soo sad for the children that lost their fathers, the wives that lost their husbands, the parents that lost their sons and the siblings that lost their brothers.  Such a big loss to our small country especially!  R.I.P brave miners, I hope you didn't suffer down there.  I hope you went peacefully in a job that you loved.  You will be sadly missed but not forgotten x

  1. Awww, totally mate. I think we definitely put ourselves in the place of those who lost those men, yanno? I can't help but just take things like this to heart :( it's just a tragedy for New Zealand, and I think we will all be quite down about it.
I saw this really annoying twitter update from this girl before :(

"I think I'm just too desensitised or something because I seem to be the only one not having a cry about the miners...I mean you read about people dying in accidents all the time, thousands of people dying from diseases overseas, poverty, etc, so it's kinda hard to be sad about this one. I mean, where does it stop? If we got this upset about every disaster or bad event then we'd all be depressed."

    Kinda annoying!

  2. geez thats horrible. Was she a NZer? I think this is extra horrible because it is 29 people at once from a small community. and it is a freak disaster ya know. Its not something that you would expect to happen. I mean poverty is a fact of life and yes it is horrible all the same its just not a huge shock.

  3. Yeah, she's a girl I used to go to high school with :( she can be kinda cynical though. I think you shouldn't not be sad about this because there are so many other people suffering. We should be sad about them as well, you know? I get upset about poverty and stuff too.
    Yeah, poor Greymouth :(
